The German Timber Promotion Fund is continuing its long-term engagement in Turkey, an important growth and future market. From 6 May to 10 May 2009, it will take part in the construction trade fair "TurkeyBuild" in Istanbul, the largest event of its kind for the building sector in Turkey and neighbouring countries.

Up to now, simple sawn timber products have been the mainstay when it comes to materials used in the Turkish building sector. At the GERMANTIMBER stand, the German Timber Promotion Fund is therefore increasing emphasis on the advantages and applications of modern wood products from sustainable forestry in sophisticated and Sustainable Building Projects. Additional focal points at this trade fair will be diverse opportunities presented by contemporary timber building methods and the productive strength of Germany's forestry and timber industry. Four companies from the German sawmill industry and wood engineering sector will take part in the event in Istanbul at the shared GERMANTIMBER stand.
