Market study trip to India

From February 14-20, the European marketing cooperation "European Wood Initiative", in which the German Timber Promotion Fund is an active participant, travelled together with business representatives to the critical growth and future market India. The objective of the market trip was to develop the professional dialog with Indian experts, decision-makers, and multipliers concerning the advantages and applications of modern wood products from sustainable forestry. The programme of the official visit included a visit to the Delhi Wood trade fair, meeting with Indian business representatives in New Delhi and Mumbai, as well as tours of Indian wood processing companies. The market trip has lead to an improved understanding of the Indian wood and timber market as well as the building sector, and also provided in-depth insight into the level of knowledge in India concerning contemporary timber construction. The "European Wood Initiative", with its successful official visit, is striving to contribute towards selectively developing the enormous market potential in India for high-quality wood products in the future.
