2009-04
On 16 March 2009 whilst a one-week visit representatives of Japan's central bank for cooperative agriculture, forestry and fisheries visited the German Timber Promotion Fund in Bonn. The Bank is planning to increase its support to timber promotion and marketing in Japan. As a result, the visitors came with the aim of obtaining information and insight on promoting timber in Germany's forestry and lumber industry. There was major interest in the organisation of German timber promotion and in marketing measures and promotional content. The Japanese delegation was particularly interested in the German Timber Promotion Fund¹s activities in providing technical information and consultative services for experts, including research, knowledge transfer, and networking within the industry, in addition to the organisation's classical marketing work at home and abroad. In conclusion the German Timber Promotion Fund and the Japanese representatives agreed to continue their professional dialogue.
